Alyce Ford (*1994 in Frankfurt am Main) lives and works in Düsseldorf. Ford graduated from the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with Trisha Donnelly and Rita McBride. Her work was most recently shown at ÆdT Am Ende des Tages (Düsseldorf 2020), RINDE AM RHEIN (Düsseldorf 2023), and Kunsthalle Recklingenhausen (Recklingenhausen 2023), among others. She had her first solo exhibition with fiebach, minninger in 2023 (Cologne 2023). Ford’s material is cardboard, which forms the basis of her 3-dimensional objects. Here she layers, builds and inserts, creating chromatically framed cardboard compositions. The starting point of all of her three-dimensional objects lies in conceived structures. Thus, they appear to be forms of the subconscious that manifest themselves for the first time in physical space – they do not correspond to any real existing architectural mode.
