She had further solo shows, for example, at CFA Berlin (Berlin, 2025), Baustelle Schaustelle (Düsseldorf, 2024) or Vienna Collector’s Club, (Viena, 2024). Furthermore, her work has been shown at various group exhibitions for exapmple at Kunstpalast + NRW Forum Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf, 2024) or at JVDW Gallery (Düsseldorf, 2024). Painting undergoes constant transformation in Sophie Esslinger’s work. The painter draws on a formal repertoire of recurring motifs such as eyes, hands, circles, and plant fragments. Recombined and recontextualized, they form an associative chain of recognizable and unfamiliar elements. Her visual language oscillates between figuration and abstraction, weaving fragments of perception into poetic constellations that shift between the familiar and the enigmatic.
