Josef Schulz (*1966 in Bischofsburg, Poland) lives and works in Düsseldorf. He studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf as a master student under Thomas Ruff. Since then Schulz received numerous awards and scholarships, most recently he was the winner of the City Artist NRW prize art and received the annual work scholarship 2021 of the Stiftung Kunstfonds. He has exhibited in galleries and institutions not only in Europe but also in China, South Korea and the US. In his photographs Schulz deals with nature, architecture and urban surroundings.
